If you do not select a meal plan and your enrollment status or residence hall assignment require you to be on a meal plan you will be placed on the silver plan.
Resident students in their first 2 semesters at Stony Brook or any students living in mandatory meal plan buildings/areas are required to be on one of the residence hall meal plans.* All freshman and transfer students will be billed an additional fee for required opening weekend meals. This fee has yet to be determined.
Apartment Meal Plans [Brochure]
Apartment 500/Apartment 250 - $500.00 or $250.00 - An apartment meal plan is a tax-exempt declining balance meal plan. The Apartment 500 is comprised of 400 flex credits and 75 campus points. The Apartment 250 is comprised of 225 flex credits. When a food or beverage purchase is made, the amount is automatically deducted from your meal plan account. You may request a receipt from any dining cashier which lists the balance of your account. You can open an Apartment 500 or Apartment 250 and have it billed it to your student account. You can also replenish your account in increments of $150, $250 or $500 and have it billed to your student account as well. The Apartment 500 and the Apartment 250 meal plans are only available to apartment residents. Sign up for a Plan Now.
The Budget Plan - A pre-paid tax-exempt meal plan which can be opened with a minimum of $50. This plan may be replenished in $25 increments. These flex credits may be purchased by apartment and residence hall students who are not required to be on a residence hall meal plan. Join a Plan Now / Add Additional Funds
With any apartment plan, unused points/credits will carry over from the fall semeseter to the spring semester but not to summer sessions or to the following academic year.

Faculty/Staff Meal Plans
The Faculty Staff Debit Plan (formerly known as the FSA Plan) - The Faculty Staff Debit Plan is a convenient way to purchase meals on campus using your University ID Card. This Plan saves you 8.5% on every meal, every day! You can open a plan with $50.00 and add money in $25.00 increments. Every time you make a food purchase, the amount is automatically withdrawn from your account. Best of all, you can keep track of your balance with a receipt from any cashier. Use your plan at these locations - The Student Activities Center, The Kelly Coffee & Tea House, the Union Deli, the Bleacher Club, the End of the Bridge, Kelly Dining Center, Roth Food Court, Campus Connection @ H-Quad, and Jasmine. On East Campus you can use this plan at Bookends and Windows Cafeteria.

Meal Plan Terminology
Campus Points - Campus points may be used any time at Kelly Dining Center, Kelly Coffee & Tea House, Campus Connection @ H-Quad, Wolfies restaurant, Starbucks, the new Union Commons, Fuzions, Union Deli, and Tabler Cafe. Campus points can be used at the Student Activities Center Food Court except between the hours of 11:30 am and 2:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Campus points must be used at a minimum rate of 40 points every 2 weeks. The unused point balance will be forfeited at the close of business every other Wednesday. Your last opportunity to spend your unused point balance is at the Kelly Deli until 3:00 am Thursday morning.
Flex Credits - These credits may be used at Jasmine at the Charles B. Wang Center. In addition, if you run out of campus points you may use your flex credits at any Campus Dining Services location. Plans consisting entirely of Flex Credits may be used anywhere on campus.Jasmine is open Monday - Friday from 11:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., and Saturday & Sunday from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. during the regular school year. Because meal plans are exempt from state sales tax they are not refundable, in whole or in part, unless you withdraw from Campus Residences in accordance with University policies.

Special Dietary Needs
Campus Dining Services does their best to meet the needs of all their customers. If you have any special dietary concerns such as low cholesterol, low fat, or low sugar diets, please feel free to visit our Campus Dining Nutritionist for a FREE consultation. Medical Exemptions
If you have special dietary needs based on allergies or other medical conditions it is important for you to meet with our Campus Dining Nutritionist. Kosher Dining Options
Kosher dining is available Monday through Friday at the Delancey Street Glatt Kosher Delicatessan and Restauraunt located in the student union building. For more information about Delancey Street click here .
Halal Dining Options
Halal food is available Monday through Friday during lunch and dinner in the Stony Brook Union. The Union Commons offers lunch selections each day between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (3:00 p.m. on fridays).
Vegetarian Food
Vegetarian menu options are available in every dining location on a daily basis. If you would like to provide input into campus vegan/vegetarian menus, get involved with the Vegetarian/Vegan Task Force. Sick Meals
If you are sick and cannot visit one of our dining locations you can have a friend do it for you. Just get a “sick tray form” from your RA or RHD. Have the form completed and give it to a friend along with your ID card. Your friend will then be able to use your card to pick up a meal for you. Be sure the form is completed with the necessary signatures or your card will be confiscated. This option is only available for short-term illnesses. In addition to the above:
- Resident students must notify their Resident assistant (RA) or Quad Office immediately.
- Contact Teachers Federal Credit Union or your bank if your ID card is used as a bank card.
If you find your card you must come in person to the Campus ID Card Office or the Meal Plan Office for reactivation.
Please Note: There is a $25 fee from the campus ID office for replacing University ID cards.
Forgotten/Lost Passwords
If you have forgotten or lost your password, you can request that your password be sent to the ORIGINAL EMAIL ADDRESS you signed up with by clicking here . You will need your University ID number. For security reasons passwords will only be sent to the original email address that you signed up with.
If you do not know the original email address you signed up with you must email the Meal Plan Office with your full name, your University ID number, your date of birth, and your billing address on record with the University and your account will be reset so you can log in as a new user. Payment Information
What forms of payment are accepted?
Money can be added to meal plan accounts by credit card using Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express either online or in person. Payment by check or cash may be made either at the Bursar’s Office in the Administration Building or at the Meal Plan Office in the Student Union Building. Additionally, students may bill their meal plan to their student account, provided that their account is in good standing. This applies to all resident and commuter meal plans with the exception of the Budget Plan.
Please Note
Meal Plans and ID Cards are non-transferable.If someone other than the cardholder is found using the card it will be confiscated and a hold will be placed upon the account until the issue has been resolved. For exceptions please see special needs.
